Is it really Kriptonite !!!!
Well this is something really strange I came across. Dr Chris Stanley, a mineralogist at London's Natural History Museum have discovered a white coloured mineral known as jadarite. It have got the same chemical formula as kriptonite from the fictional story from the DC comics - SUPERMAN. The Chemical formula is LiNaSiB3O7(OH) or Na2OLi2O(SiO2)2(B2O3)3H2O. the chemical was discovered by Dr Chris Stanley in November 2006, in drill holes in the Jadar Valley (Serbian Cyrillic: Јадар, Yaddar) in Serbia, from which it is named. As soon as mineral was officially stated as a mineral the news was widely spread by the media. BBC was the first to tell the story (video). The most funniest story is that the media was showing jadarite as Kryptonite. which I actually believed that it is true. then I started researching a little bit about kriptonite and I came to a conclusion that its not kriptonite its jadarite. you will get additional information from the links and
